LOS ANGELES – A group of migrants arrived Wednesday at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles on a bus from Texas, said the state’s governor, Greg Abbott.

Through a statement, Abbott announced the arrival of the first group of migrants to relieve Texas border cities that, he says, are “overwhelmed that (President) Biden refuses to secure the border.”

Forty immigrants arrived, including “a lot” of children, who traveled more than 23 hours without food before reaching Los Angeles, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights told NBC4.

“The small border towns of Texas continue to be overwhelmed and overrun by thousands of people crossing illegally into Texas from Mexico due to President Biden’s refusal to secure the border,” Governor Abbott said.

“Los Angeles is a major city that migrants are looking to go to, particularly now that city leaders have approved its self-declared sanctuary city status,” he added.

Abbot blamed President Biden for the border crisis, saying that Texas will continue to send this number of migrants until the president does his job to secure the border.
