Although Intel currently holds the performance crown for games with its Raptor Lake series, Ryzen CPUs are still very often sought after by AMD – and ultimately also sold. The latter emerges from the data from dealer Mindfactory, which Reddit user Ingebor regularly highlights. Interestingly, AMD still has the larger sales volume for CPUs there. However, AMD does not achieve this through its current Ryzen 7000 CPU series, which only has a volume of 15 percent, but through Ryzen 5000 revenues. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is still the top seller, which, with the additional cache installed, also raises older CPU platforms to the spheres of Ryzen 7000 and Intel Raptor Lake aka Core-i-13000 gaming performance. And that despite cheap DDR4 RAM. AMD recently announced the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D and Ryzen 7 7800X3D for February – tomorrow, January 10, 2023, the first non-X models of the Ryzen 7000 CPUs are also due. What does this mean for the current price structure?

AMD Ryzen 5800X3D ahead of all Intel and Ryzen 7000 CPUs

We didn’t see any major changes in the popular Ryzen 5800X3D. It has been sold in virtual shops since mid-December at prices of around 365 euros, currently 368.41 euros are due. The AM4 processor is currently at the top of the CPU sales ranking by views, followed by the Intel Core i5-13600KF – available from stock at our partner shops, for example Mindfactory and Caseking for 321 euros. In third place, the Ryzen 7 5700X, is again followed by an aging CPU from the Ryzen 5000 series (at Mindfactory for 206 euros at the best price). However, the fact that new Ryzen CPUs are just around the corner has not yet been reflected in their price development.

And what about the current Ryzen processors from AMD? There, too, not much has changed in terms of price since December. A prominent exception is the flagship in the form of the Ryzen 9 7950X. Anyone who wants to buy the 16-core currently pays less than 600 euros, although Mindfactory with 588 euros currently making the best offer. At the beginning of December, the CPU was still around 620 euros, but AMD had announced a proud 849 euros as an RRP in September. The current street price of the flagship is even lower than the original list price of the second fastest AMD Ryzen 9 7900X model. There, however, the RRP and street price do not drift apart so enormously: there are currently 489 Mindfactory (Best price), 669 euros according to the RRP from September.

AMD Ryzen 7000 CPU: The original RRP is now far undercut

In view of the competition from Intel’s Core i 13000 series, the RRPs for the six and eight cores, for which they wanted 447 euros and 359 euros at the time, are no longer tenable. It is included with the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 375 euros once again Mindfactorywho make the best offer. cyberport, alternates and notebooks cheaper are within striking distance at 379 euros. The AMD Ryzen 5 7600X starts at 273 euros these days at Mindfactory, during alternates 279 euros and Amazon 285 euros invoice.

In view of such top prices, it is hardly surprising that AMD sets comparatively low RRPs for the non-X CPUs. The Ryzen 9 7900 will be available for $429, the Ryzen 7 7700 for $329 and the Ryzen 5 7600 for $239. Euro prices should follow at the latest by the launch next Tuesday. It remains to be seen whether the prices will stay the same for the time being, will soon be undercut or even exceeded. In the PCGH price comparison a retailer even lists the Ryzen 5 7600X. He wants almost 260 euros for the six-core.

The competition never sleeps: current Intel and AMD CPUs can also be bought from Amazon

We can imagine that set out by Reddit user Ingebor Shifted sales ratio of Ryzen 5000 and Ryzen 7000 CPUs in favor of the newer generation. However, AMD has little impact on overall platform costs. Ryzen 5000 should also be in demand because DDR4 memory is cheaper than DDR5 – you have to use Ryzen 7000 for this. For comparison: For almost 43 euros falls the G.Skill Aegis DDR4-3200 kit with 16GB is very cheap, 80 euro costs the 32 GB version at the cheapest retailer. Meanwhile, for the cheapest DDR5 kit, you’ll need at least 16GB 62.90 euros spend or alternatively 117.90 euros. But be careful: These are the less powerful models after DDR5-4800. In the searches currently carry DDR5-6000 kits like the Corsair Vengeance RGB from 179 euros. However, high platform costs also result from AM5 motherboards for Ryzen 7000, where bargains are difficult to find.

The Ryzen 5 7600, Ryzen 7 7700 and Ryzen 9 7900 are said to be superior to their predecessors from the Ryzen 5000 series, including those with the X suffix. the Ryzen 9 7900 has 12 cores and 24 threads, should have a base clock of 3.7 GHz and a turbo clock of up to 5.4 GHz. AMD specifies the TDP as 65 watts – the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X still came up with 170 watts. The Ryzen 7 7700 offers 8 cores and 16 threads. Its base clock is 3.8 GHz, the turbo clock is up to 5.3 GHz. Last but not least there is the Ryzen 5 7600, which has 6 cores and 12 threads. Its base clock is 3.8 GHz and the turbo clock is up to 5.1 GHz. Both the Ryzen 5 7600 and the Ryzen 7 7700X are satisfied with a TDP of 65 watts, while the X versions have 105 watts on the plus side. Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D and Ryzen 7 7800X3D: New CPU competition for Intel in February

Provided that the forecasts for the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D and Ryzen 7 7800X3D with the 3D V-Cache installed are reasonably correct, AMD could recapture the performance crown in games with its X3D processors. However, there is only a rough delivery date for the souped-up processors in February. December leaks mentioned $449 for the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, $549 for the Ryzen 9 7900X3D, and $799 for the Ryzen 9 7950X3D. Since the two larger processors are composed of two so-called compute dies, each with six or eight cores, an additional L3 cache is only used on one of the two CCDs. The Ryzen 9 7950X3D will also only have one cache structure, but this processor is also only based on a CCD with eight CPU cores, so a second structure would not make sense.
