The fairly reliable leaker Billbil-kun has struck again and the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium titles for the month of February. Once again there are a few top-class performers.

Those are Horizon Forbidden West, Scarlet Nexus, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and Borderlands 3, although Billbil-kun says it won’t stick to those four.

The deadline for these games to arrive at the subscription services is February 21st, which is next Tuesday.

Horizon Forbidden West is likely to cause the most excitement, which is not quite a year old and is definitely worth a look with its dreamlike panoramas and imaginative combat system (even if it still doesn’t quite meet my taste).

Once again you slip into Aloy’s fur habit, this time heading west to investigate the origins of a mysterious plague. The game is huge and technically impressive. Martin found a few warm words in the review of Horizon Forbidden West, but also some criticism. In the end, however, satisfaction prevailed:

“I have a lot of good memories from these hours and since I’m also planning to add a few more, Horizon is doing a lot right again,” writes our editor-in-chief there.

Aloy also learned to dive for the sequel.

Lesser known but still pretty cool is Scarlet Nexus, which got a bit lost among Bandai Namco’s many anime-heavy action-RPGs, but is loads of fun and bursting with creativity, even if the form it takes isn’t must please everyone. Martin was also responsible for testing Scarlet Nexus and was very impressed:

“An unusual anime world that takes a little time to get going, but then shines with a beautiful look and cool fights,” was his verdict in summer 2021.

After choosing your main character, you’ll learn to use telekinesis and other mind abilities to defend what remains of humanity against sinister invaders.

There’s probably not much more to say about Resident Evil 7: Biohazard other than that it’s a great game and the jump to first-person was a worthwhile change of pace for the series. I liked that part, although I hope the show eventually returns to the third person perspective.

Stay to eat!

And then there’s Borderlands 3, and while I’m one of the few who never understood what’s so good about this series, I know I’m in the minority. I wish everyone who can do more with this loot shooter all the best fun with it.

The fact that I can’t think of anything other than “Borderlands 3” as a caption actually says everything about what I think of this series.

Anything for you?
