Pokemon has been in various collaborations with companies such as Puma, Converse and Adidas, but now we will have the opportunity to see it in Nike. At least, in the form of custom sneakers.

Andrew Chiou, art director of Jordan Brand, is a big fan of anime series like Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon and Pokémon, and on his Instagram account has launched several ideas such as sneakers.

Some have not seen the light of day in real life, remaining only in concept. But others do, waiting for its official launch.

Chiou recently published the model Bye-bye, Butterfree, Inspired by a tender moment from Pokémon. These Nike Dunk Low type shoes will be sold in the future, but in a personalized way.

What does this mean? It will not carry elements of the Pokémon brand, but they are inspired by the series, and they will not be sold in large quantities either, only for people who ask to do them.

“It is the last concept before the purchase orders are opened”, Chiou announced on his Instagram account.

So are the Nike Dunk Low Bye-Bye, Butterfree, Pokémon shoes

The slippers are based on a sad scene from Pokémon, in which Ash releases his monster Butterfree when he meets another butterfly. Both monsters court each other, causing the master to let him leave at sunset.

Below, you can watch the scene that inspired the slippers, with Chiou wondering if it’s the “saddest in Pokémon history”.

In the case of Nike Dunk Low Bye-Bye, Butterfree, They are two different pairs: one following the color of the male butterfly, purple, and another of the female butterfly, pink.

The swoosh is light red on both models, playing on the colors of the butterflies’ eyes.

They vary too the colors of the laces, one purple and the other pink.

Chiou did not disclose the prices of the shoes or the delivery date of the orders, but the iterations were liked by more than 22 thousand people.
