The call of duty franchise began to undergo major changes in its deliveries with the arrival of Warzone. Preserving the progression (at least part of it) became an important issue and since then each installment has been more connected to the previous one. The Modern Warfare III presentation raises the same question: what content are we going to keep from Modern Warfare II?
Activision has explained that those who play multiplayer Modern Warfare II already Warzone 2.0 (which share progression), they will keep their weapons (and blueprints), accessories, operators, bundles, skins and other cosmetics, including those that have been around for a limited time, heading into Modern Warfare III. It’s not a two way road: Only works from Modern Warfare II to Modern Warfare III.
As for the exceptions, it includes all the content that don’t share both games. An easy to see example is vehicle skins. For obvious reasons, if a certain vehicle is not available, we will not have that skin. And so with everything. This offers some nice continuity and yet another excuse to jump into Modern Warfare III and not stay with Modern Warfare II.
All this revolves around multiplayer and Warzone, but we remind you that the two trailers presented have revolved around the story. After many suspicions, we now know that the main villain is an old acquaintance from the franchise: Vladimir Makarov… and it seems that he returns wanting war. On August 17, Modern Warfare III will be revealed worldwide.
