On Wednesday, the Swede was remanded in custody for four weeks with a ban on letters and visits.

He did not want to explain himself in court, but has given a long interview to the police.

– He denies criminal guilt and finds the charge outrageous, says the man’s defender, lawyer Severin Lyngstad, to TV 2.

Found items

On the night of Tuesday, a police patrol was contacted by a badly injured man in his 20s just outside Sentrum police station.

– His injuries meant that the police immediately requested an ambulance which transported him to Ullevål hospital, says police attorney Ida Beate Fengsrud in court on Wednesday.

At the same time, the police quickly obtained video surveillance from several places in the area and questioned witnesses who believe they saw all or part of the sequence of events.

Based on the video surveillance and witness interviews, the police recognized the Swedish man in his 30s.

Police went to his home and found items and clothing they recognized from the video. He was immediately arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Not questioned

On Tuesday, the Swede was questioned for a long time.

At first he denied knowledge of the knife incident. The police then showed him a video of him walking with his girlfriend close to the crime scene.

The man then explained that he had ended up in a physical confrontation with the man, who is now in hospital with serious injuries.

Lawyer Lyngstad does not want to say what the accused man has explained about the confrontation.

The police have not yet questioned the aggrieved man, but police attorney Fengsrud stated in court that they hope to be able to conduct an interrogation within a short time.

Because the police plan to interview more witnesses in the case and also want to conduct new interviews with the accused, the court has allowed them to remand him in custody due to the risk of tampering with evidence.

The accused has not yet decided whether he will appeal the imprisonment order.
