A man identified as Leonardo Raúl Araujo, 29, died in the last few hours after being involved in an accident and being trapped inside the vehicle that caught fire. The event occurred on Sunday night on provincial route No. 8 at the height of the town of Campo Grande.

According to the first investigations, the victim was traveling in a Volkswagen Senda car when, for reasons that are the subject of investigation, he collided with a Chevrolet Corsa, which was traveling West-East on route No. 8. After the impact, the Senda began to set fire with its driver inside the passenger compartment.

Two other men were traveling with the deceased, who ended up with superficial injuries and sharp injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Corsa underwent an alcohol test which yielded 1.57 g/l, while his companion was admitted to the Samic de Oberá Hospital, presenting head trauma.

Members of the local police station, police firefighters, who put out the fire, and the Scientific Police Division, which carried out the rigorous tests, worked on the site. In turn, the doctor who examined the victim’s body and requested the corresponding autopsy.

By order of the Investigating Court No. 2 of Oberá, the body was taken to the Judicial Morgue, both vehicles were hijacked and the driver of the Corsa was arrested, who was lodged in the police station.
