The weekend is just around the corner, but those who had hoped for a cloudless sky and sun will have to be patient.

Western Norway and central Norway start the day with a stay and a good amount of clouds, says meteorologist on duty at Storm, Lillian Bergheim.

There will be some scattered rain on Saturday.

– Then you should be aware that it is colder and there is much more snow today. When it starts to rain on Saturday, it can be slippery.

The wind will also increase in strength throughout Saturday.

– There will probably be long periods of stiff to strong gales along the west coast, says the meteorologist.

There will be a period of rain on Sunday as well, but it will decrease throughout the day.

Weather changes in the north

Some places in northern Norway will experience a severe weather change, and go from minus to plus degrees.

At Finnmarksvidda, it was minus 29 degrees on the night of Friday, according to Storm.no, while it will be warmer during the weekend.

On Monday, the temperature may have moved to plus degrees, i.e. up to 30 degrees warmer.

Bardufoss goes from minus 17 degrees on the night of Friday to plus degrees on Sunday.

– It is because there is low pressure in the west, and then there is wind from the south and west. The temperature will rise throughout northern Norway. It is typical for Finnmarksvidda where it has been very cold. That is not unusual, says Bergheim.

In addition to severe weather changes in some places, there will also be periods of snow showers for northern Norway on Saturday, mainly in Troms and Finnmark. Throughout the evening, there will probably be stiff gales in Troms and Nordland, in addition to some snow.

– There are actually stays mostly in the whole of Nordland.

During the day, the wind will increase, and will probably blow to a stiff gale in Troms and Nordland on Saturday evening.

More sun in the south

For those who live further south in the country, it will mostly be dry weather all weekend.

– Southern Norway and Eastern Norway receive the least rainfall and the greatest chance of sunshine, says Bergheim.

There may be some precipitation on Saturday evening and overnight into Sunday.

– It is so mild that there will be sleet and rain. It is not a large amount.

The mild weather also means that there is no great danger that the roads will be slippery on Sunday.
