Candelaria Enrique, the 5-year-old girl who was hit by a stray bullet in the middle of the Christmas Eve celebrations at her home on Iriondo street in the Acindar neighborhood of Rosario, died this morning, as confirmed by Eduardo Ontivero, the director of the Women’s Sanatorium, where the minor had been admitted. The body was transferred to the Legal Medical Institute for autopsy. The fact will be investigated as a culpable homicide and the file will be in charge of the prosecutor Mariana Prunotto.
“I didn’t see anyone shooting. It was full of people. It was 00:05, all the neighbors were outside. They took her to the Women’s Sanatorium and she was covered in blood. The parents decided to donate their organs. The girl was beautiful. She was five years old, she was an only child. Unfortunately a son of a bitch killed her. There is no explanation, they destroyed the whole family,” an uncle of the minor assured local radio stations.
Meanwhile, the investigation has already begun. “It is difficult to know where the projectile came from. Testimonies were taken and there are other investigative measures underway,” a source in the file told Infobae.
Thus, the crime becomes the violent death number 281 so far this year in the judicial department of Rosario, according to official figures. It is a record that rises almost daily.
According to the police report, Emmanuel, Candelaria’s father, assured that he went out into the street with the minor at 00:10. There she was hit by the shot. There was no talk of any confrontation or act of assassination at the moment.
His kindergarten, Sapo Pepe, located on Alsina street, dedicated a sad post to him, with a black mourning crepe on his profile.
