Police officers arrested four suspects in a large-scale raid in Bremen on Thursday. The men are accused of commercial gang stolen goods with motor vehicles, said the responsible Central Criminal Inspectorate Oldenburg. Two of the four suspects are in custody.

According to the investigators, the men, aged 33 to 48, are accused of having shipped stolen vehicles to the western part of the African continent via the port of Hamburg in at least 20 cases. The cars came primarily from France and Belgium. The officials estimate the preliminary total damage at at least 500,000 euros.

Investigators seize cars and drugs

According to the investigators, the investigation into the cases has been going on for almost a year. The investigation also revealed that at least one suspect has been dealing in drugs for a long time. According to the information, four cars and 500 grams of marijuana were seized during the searches, in which investigators from the Oldenburg Central Criminal Inspectorate, also forces from the Oldenburg and Bremen riot police and service dog handlers from the Oldenburg Police Department were involved.

Arrest warrants had already been issued against two men in the run-up to the searches. They were brought before a magistrate that afternoon and were taken into custody. Two other suspects were released after the police measures.

A total of eight objects in Bremen were searched. The further investigations of the responsible department for organized crime of the public prosecutor’s office in Oldenburg continued.
