the cuban singer Carlos Manuel Pruneda Maciasleader of the group Carlos Manuel and his Clanvery popular on the island in the 90s and early 2000s, reappeared on Miami television on Saturday.
Carlos Manuel attended the program Our Table of America TeVeconducted by Omar Moynelowhere he announced the release of a lyrical album.
The artist revealed that his grandfather was a baritone and he inherited his opera skills. It is thus that he without any difficulty reaches the registers of a light tenor.
“I was also making a lyrical record, we are going to release it, well done…”, he announced.
Carlos explained that he does not have a repertoire of this genre as such, and that to make the album he took the work of the prestigious Cuban composer Elisha Grenetwhich on this occasion was adapted for a symphony and he provided the voice.
“Eliseo Grenet is one of the greatest composers of Cuban music. He was the one who made mom ines, Look how cute she comes, the pearls of your mouth, If you ask me for the fish, I’ll give it to you… They did all that work in symphony, and then we put the voice on it, singing like no one has ever heard, with bel canto, with that technique,” he explained.
Carlos Manuel and his Clan It was one of the most popular orchestras in Cuba until 2003, when its singer and director decided to stay in Mexico and from there to the United States.
Among his main hits are songs like The apple on the head, bad amount and Matilda.
Previously, he was part of the Mayohuacán group and his first own group was Carlos Manuel y su banda Carapacho, which he named after his hit Carapacho pa’ la jicotea.
In February 2020, the singer premiered on his YouTube channel the official video clip of Pretty womena collaboration with reggaeton artists Ricky Boy and El Negrito.
This was not the first time that the interpreter flirted with reggaeton and joined some of its most popular exponents to work.
In 2018 he surprised his audience with the premiere of My hearta single with urban rhythms in which he collaborated with Lenier Mesa and Eddy K.
