Virtual scams are the order of the day and no one is saved. Cell phones, email boxes, accounts on social networks and home banking operations are some of the preferred targets for this type of crime, in which a second of distraction can bring economic losses and headaches.
In the last few hours, whoever was close to suffering a form of virtual scam was Carmen Barbieri, with the addition that it happened while it was on the air. Like every day, the actress was in charge of her program very morning from Ciudad Magazine together with their panelists Estefi Berardi and Sebastian pampito perellowhile the cook of the program, Samantha Casaismade one of his recipes.
At one point, the driver’s phone rang and Berardi asked her to answer. “They call you Carmen, I answered. She says ‘fraud,’ ”said the panelist, indicating the name of the contact who made the incoming call. “Let’s take care of it”, Pampito proposed, taking the phone and trying to unlock it.
Carmen left her position in the kitchen and approached the table, while her partner activated the call and put the device on loudspeaker, holding it close to his microphone. “Hello, yes, who is speaking?” Pampito answered to find himself with one of the typical speeches of this type of scam. On this occasion, they claimed to represent a cell phone company, in an apparent routine call for their clients.
“Hello, I am contacting the number portability area as a result of the increases that are taking place in telephony…” a woman’s voice began, but the driver interrupted her in an energetic tone. “Well, thanks, I’m working right now,” Barbieri replied, to the laughter of his colleagues at the unusual moment they had just gone through.
In recent months, several celebrities have been victims of virtual scammers.
