Lisboa will be able to see the famous human towers of Catalonia from next April 21st, announced the City Council.

The Castellers de Vilafranca, champions of the last competition of this tradition originating in Catalonia, will be in the Portuguese capital as part of the celebration of Sant Jordi Day, which is organized by the delegation of the Government of Catalonia in Portugal, according to a note of the municipality.

The ‘castells’ are “a tradition that dates back to the 18th century” and have been on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list since 2010.
