While WhatsApp, Meta’s social network, registered two billion users in 2021, where the use of the application is particularly strong in markets outside of the United States and is one of the most popular mobile social applications worldwide.
Cell phones that will not have WhatsApp
From time to time, the instant messaging platform shares a list of the devices on which the platform will stop working, since this 2023 other models have been included, either because they cannot be updated or because they will simply stop working.
According to the social network, the list of these phones are old devices, so if you have recent models, there should be no problem for the user to have them on their cell phones.
These devices have very outdated operating systems to function optimally and WhatsApp has decided to stop supporting them as of January 1, 2023. In this sense, on its site the Meta app highlighted that it will no longer work on Android smartphones with an operating system prior to 4.1, which cell phones that have been purchased from 2013 on have.
For its part, for Apple users, WhatsApp will also stop working on iPhones with versions prior to the iOS 12 operating system.
The list of the firm was separated by technological brands where in Samsung cell phones are the models Galaxy Core, Galaxy Trend Lite, Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy S3 mini, Galaxy Trend II and Galaxy X cover 2.
In LG brand cell phones, there are the models Lucid 2LG Optimus F7, Optimus L3 II Dual, Optimus L5 II, Optimus F5, Optimus L3 II, Optimus L7II, Optimus F6LG Enact, Optimus L5 Dual, Optimus L7 Dual, Optimus F3, Optimus F3Q, Optimus L2 II, Optimus L4 II, Optimus F6, EnactLG Lucid 2 and Optimus F7.
For its part, there are also various Apple phones such as the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
