Chrysler will be the first Stellantis brand in North America to introduce next-generation infotainment technology based on the upcoming Stellantis EV platform STLA. This will include large infotainment screens covering the entire vehicle’s dashboard, as well as autonomous technology and more.

The automaker showed off a two-seat cockpit concept technology at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week. Although the showcase has no body, its design and essence are based on the Airflow concept that Chrysler first showed off at CES 2022 a year ago.

It’s called the Chrysler Integrated Cockpit, and it features a 37.2-inch (94.4-centimeter) screen for front-seat passengers on two large glass sections that span the entire dashboard. Using advanced artificial intelligence technology, the infotainment system will learn the owner’s preferences over time, Chrysler said. Meanwhile, over-the-air updates will allow automakers to update the software contained in the “STLA brain” over time to keep it current and exciting.

The system will also power a virtual assistant that can synchronize every aspect of the owner’s day. Chrysler says the assistant can work both inside and outside the car, checking their calendar to suggest driving directions, recommend parking and charging locations, connect to smart homes and assist with e-commerce services.

The automaker promises that the STLA platform will provide Level 3 autonomous driving. Thanks to STLA AutoDrive technology, this will allow drivers to take their hands off the wheel and eyes off the road. Meanwhile, the design of the cockpit incorporates green materials such as recycled plastics, vegetable tanning, suspended seats, and excludes all chrome. This has led to the choice of playful and ecological materials, such as heather dashboards and textile-infused walnut floors, which give the interior a modern and luxurious appeal.

At CES, visitors will experience a day in the life of a future Chrysler owner, starting with a “welcome,” planning an intelligent route for the day, handling autonomous driving, managing charge status and parking. Attendees can also experience Chill, Zen and Fun modes, which create an in-car experience that allows occupants to compose their own music while driving autonomously.

Chrysler plans to launch its first all-electric vehicle in 2025 and will offer an all-electric model by 2028.
