“Chaotic scene”: Shooting investigated at 7-Eleven in New Haven

A multi-person shooting occurred at the 7-Eleven at 400 Foxon Boulevard in New Haven, Connecticut, early Thursday morning, police said, and responding officers found a “chaotic scene.”

Officers were called to the store just before 2:00 a.m. to investigate reports of gunshots and found multiple shell casings in the store and in the parking lot.

Witnesses told police that a BMW was parked in the parking lot, then a Honda Civic pulled up and several people in the Honda Civic were dressed in dark clothing and armed with guns and entered the store.

The BMW then stopped near the entrance and a passenger got out and began shooting at people inside, police said, and shots were exchanged.

Police said they found four shot cartridge cases in the parking lot and several “shells” and shell casings inside the store.

All involved fled.

Police said no one was shot, but one person had facial cuts from broken glass and was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor lacerations.

Detectives from the Bureau of Identification responded and police are investigating.
