Charity gala announced in Miami in honor of health leaders

MIAMI.- Friends United for Health will honor a new group of notable health and community leaders at its benefit gala Women’s Health Celebrationon Saturday, June 1 at 6:30 pm, at the Newman Alumni Center at the University of Miami (6200 San Amaro Dr. Coral Gables, FL 33146).

The annual ceremony of Women’s Health Celebration is a recognition of the coalition members of doctors, students and community leaders who come together to make a difference and ensure efforts to address health care inequalities in underserved communities in Latin America.

Mayra M. Eduardo, Director of Communications and Public Relations of Friends United for Health, noted that “each year is another opportunity to recognize industry professionals who sacrifice their time to benefit the disadvantaged, a medical team that practices his vocation without limits”.

“Thanks to your efforts together with community leaders and elected officials, we can provide essential medical services to save more lives, saving the life of a woman is saving a family from tragedy, and saving an entire community, women represent the resilience and contributes with its dedication to the development of a country,” he added.

At the ceremony there will be special recognition for Dr. Cruz Jiminian, Dominican philanthropist and businessman, founder of the Cruz Clinic and Foundation, located in the Dominican Republic, which offers free services to vulnerable patients, in addition to the renowned journalist Ada Guzman, for her work in managing the health and well-being of women.

The event will raise vital funds to obtain hospital supplies, provide essential medical services, early detection tests, diagnoses and treatments to victims of cervical cancer and breast cancer.

Our organization provides essential primary health care services to underserved communities in South Florida, in the Dominican Republic and on the Haitian border, known as Bateyes. In addition to educating and raising awareness about public health well-being. To achieve the mission, a coalition of industry professionals, students and community leaders organizes a minimum of three mission trips abroad, throughout the year, in order to implement multiple health services fairs and achieve collaboration of organizations and professionals local to ensure long-term efforts.
