The commuters were amazed on Thursday: Instead of driving in the luxury sedan, the prince drove William (40) and Princess Kate (41) on the London Underground to appointments in the city centre. Your first stop: the “Dog and Duck Pub”.
Once there, Prince William lent a hand himself. He poured his own beer. “Looks perfect. Expertly done,” commented the waiter. William joked. “I don’t have that much experience with beer tapping. I’m not so bad at drinking, but at tapping.”
Wife Kate also treated herself to a cool blonde while chatting about her kids. “The children have theirs today coronation celebration at school.” The little ones are looking forward to the huge event on Saturday!
Prince George (9) in particular was very excited and was already out of control during the rehearsals. He is a page of honor during the service at Westminster Abbey and is looking forward to his exclusive task: “I think after a few rehearsals everyone is a little more relaxed,” says Kate.
The couple themselves, however, made a fairly calm impression. William drank his beer and chatted easily with the other patrons in the pub. “I love cocktails! But preferably not before the coronation, but maybe afterwards,” he laughed as he left the pub.
Then the two of them continued their journey – again by train! Like all other passengers, they had to go through the ticket barrier in front of the Acton Main Line platform to board the train.
It was the couple’s first trip on the Elizabeth Line, which the late Queen Elizabeth († 96) opened almost a year ago on May 17, 2022.
According to palace insiders, William and Kate also take the subway “occasionally” privately – incognito, of course.
