A photo in King Charles and Camilla’s coronation program is worth a thousand words. It could be a sign of peace to Meghan Markle.
London – What would be the coronation of Her Majesties King Charles III. (74) and Queen Camilla (75) on May 6, 2023, if nothing to keep. Despite the ongoing royal feud, a common family picture appears in the coronation program
The 84-page publication tells the life stories of Their Majesties and previews Coronation Day, including the service at Westminster Abbey and the historic moment of the Coronation. In addition to the details of the coronation lunch and the splendor of past coronations, the crown jewels and the royal succession, there is also a full-page photograph of the royal family together with Prince Harry (38) and Meghan Markle (41).
The image of Harry and Meghan beaming among the royal family was captured by royal photographer Chris Jackson, which the chosen one took in the gardens of Clarence House in 2018 to mark the monarch’s 70th birthday. Meghan and Harry are still working royals and they all look relaxed and in high spirits when Jackson freezes the time document in a snapshot. So now it comes to late honor and delivers a message of peace to Meghan Markle across the Atlantic: Without many words, the king says: I am thinking of you, your family is part of our family, whether you come to the coronation or not.
Archbishop Justin Welby is a voice in the official coronation program
In the programme, Archbishop Justin Welby, 67, Archbishop of Canterbury, says Charles will swap his coronation robes, his robes of status and honor, for a plain white shirt for the anointing during the May 6 ceremony.
The archbishop goes on to say that the king will come before God as a servant, “fully aware that the task is difficult and that he needs help.”
He added: “Knowing full well that even as King he is one of the people and that even if he has a specific role to play he shares in our human weaknesses and vulnerabilities.”
The Archbishop describes how coronations “often bring with them the hopes and prayers of nations for peace, justice and the common good.”
Does King Charles show his dream family in the picture?
Jackson also had his finger on the shutter button for the cover photo of the coronation program, he says of his family picture: “Nice to see this picture that I took in the official coronation program in 2018 – it was so much fun to take it”. You can literally feel the fun when you look at his picture: Charles is holding his grandson Prince George (9) on his lap on a bench. Camilla sits next to him, cuddles with Princess Charlotte (7) and points to something. Prince William (40) smiles and Catherine (41) beams and holds her third child Louis (3) on her arm. And there they are: Harry (38) and Meghan (41) are in the picture as naturally as one no longer thinks possible after the Megxit and the hostilities in the various publications of the Sussexes.
It would have been easy to let the picture fall under the table. Nevertheless, everyone can imagine that King Charles wanted peace with his second son. He has more than enough to do with the monarchy in the 20th century. He wants a reconciliation. But first Charles III. forego Meghan Markle’s presence at his coronation. He also had to rewrite his speech because he actually wanted to make a toast to Prince Archie’s (3) fourth birthday, but it is not yet certain whether Prince Harry is still at the coronation lunch and has not already taken the return flight to California.
