Despite waiting to return as Matt Murdock, other projects are keeping Charlie Cox busy, with the recent one Treason, for the actor the thought of playing the Guardian Devil again is a constant. During a recent interview with NME for the presentation of Treasoninevitably the speech returned to the future return of Corneto in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, an occasion during which Charlie Cox confessed he hasn’t seen the script yet Daredevil: Born Againalthough filming is expected to start shortly.

After the acclaimed series made at the time of the collaboration between Marvel and Netflix, fans feared that the closure of productions dedicated to urban heroes Marvelians also caused Daredevil to disappear. Surprisingly, the blind lawyer from Hell’s Kitchen appeared first in a surprising cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and then as Daredevil in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
The subsequent announcement of Daredevil: Born Again was the confirmation that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become his new home for the Guardian Devil, even if Charlie Cox hasn’t read the script yet Daredevil: Born Againalthough he has an idea of when the series will shoot:
They said ‘We’re shooting in 2023’ and I was like ‘Great, when?’, they just said ‘Everything 2023’, basically it’ll start shooting in February and finish in December! I’m fascinated by the discovery that they’ve chosen to make eighteen episodes, I’m figuring there’s going to be an old-time procedural component, not necessarily a case of the week, but something that delves a lot into the Matt Murdock lawyer and shows us how it’s his life. If it’s done right and it really gets his hands dirty with that world… I think we can have something really interesting, be able to spend a lot of time in the daily life of a superhero and really enjoy the moment he puts on the costume.
What worries Cox more is the fact that a few years have passed since his previous experience as Daredevil in the Netflix serials, and now his physique is no longer trained as it used to be:
I don’t remember when was the last time I didn’t have physical problems. My shoulder is gone, knees are not at their best and my back is a wreck. I was at a comic convention a couple of weeks ago and Jean-Claud Van Damme was there, and I thought ‘his body must be making a lot of noise. When he walks one might be able to hear him!’
