According to the report published on the website of CNETfor Automated Christmas Joy, a four-track album, indie-punk singer-songwriter Evan Greer used ChatGPT to get him to write lyrics for “Santa’s Mighty Sack”.
Greer was only in charge of composing the music and melodies, but he was amazed by the work of the AI: “There are some really funny moments where you can see the AI fail and succeed at the same time.”.
The author also recounted that he asked ChatGPT to write a Christmas song in a gay bar: “The AI clearly returned results informed by the recent wave of violence against LGBTQ+ people”.
“It’s Christmas Eve and we’re all here. In our favorite bar with our dear friends”, says the song. “We have been through a lot this year. But tonight we’ll put aside our fearyes”, the subject said.
Greer also asked the artificial intelligence to write “a Blink 182-esque Christmas song” and “a Christmas song set in Boston”: “Oh, Boston at Christmas is a beautiful sight. The snow shines and the moon is so bright”.
