The film universe of ‘The Conjuring’ created by James Wan continues to grow with the sequel to one of his most successful films: ‘The Nun’.
The most powerful, evil and diabolical entity of the film universe of The spellis back this 2023 with the second part of the nun, title for which its first official trailer has just been released and its release date scheduled for September confirmed.
Valak is one of the main characters in this horror franchise created by James Wan over 10 years ago. And we’ve usually seen him, on different tapes, in the form of a nun. Her presence has been so decisive, that in 2018 she had her first solo tape of her with the lead role of Demián Bichir and Taissa Farmiga.
And it is the latter who come back for the nun 2 like sister Irene, who has to face, once again, Valak. Only this time he does it with a completely new cast and under the direction of Michael Chavezknown for his work on The legend of the weeping and the third installment of The spell. What happens in The Nun?
In the first installment of the nun, Father Burke from the Vatican is sent, along with the novice Irene, to a monastery in Romania where several nuns have died under mysterious circumstances. During their investigation, they discover that they have fallen victim to an entity known as Valak.
At the end of the tape the nunboth Burke and Irene destroy Valak, but he just he managed to appropriate the body of Frenchie, a Canadian from the area. From this, it is that it gives rise to the sequel to this tape where we have back to Sister Irene and Frenchie. This film, in terms of box office, has been the most successful in the universe of The spell.

In the first trailer for the nun 2the main setting is a religious girls’ school where Frenchie works as a gardener. One of the girls begins to notice something strange about him, and that is how some strange and terrifying events begin to happen.
We then see Sister Irene, who soon discovers that Valak is still present, and again he must face him first to save the lives of the girls at school, and secondly, to destroy it. So he must carry out a more in-depth investigation where it is revealed that Valak was an angel rejected by God…
Taissa Farmiga is back with a cast made up of Jonas Bloquet with Storm Reid, Anna Popplewell and Bonnie Aarons, this last one to reinterpret to Valak the the nun. Directed by Chaves, the film is produced by Peter Safran and James Wan.
