The FICUNAM 2023 edition is approaching And of course we are excited to return to one of the must-see film festivals in Mexico. But it is not only about what is interesting that the main event is already in itself… There are more activities around the festival and one of them is the seminar El Público del Futuro.
Again, said seminar will open a very important space around the seventh art. For this year’s delivery, the Workshop for audiovisual exhibition projects will be held and here, We tell you how the wave is with the call to enter this activity.
What is the FICUNAM Workshop for Audiovisual Exhibition Projects about?
The UNAM International Film Festival It is not only a projection space for outstanding film works. As we mentioned before, it is also a platform for dialogue, reflection, analysis and more.
With this in mind, FICUNAM 2023 and the seminar El Público del Futuro bring us the Workshop for audiovisual exhibition projects, which will take place from June 5 to 17 virtually. Through a statement, the festival mentioned that the mission of the workshop for this year revolves around “to collectively rethink what it means to show cinema today”.
There will be 5 modules that will make up the Workshop for audiovisual exhibition projects: 1. Programming and curating processes, 2. Design of communication strategies, 3. Audiences under construction; Exchanges and mediation, 4. Identity and internal structure of projects, and 5. Management, financing and sustainability.
The FICUNAM 2023 call for the Workshop for audiovisual exhibition projects
The call for the Workshop for an audiovisual exhibition project (coordinated by FICUNAM together with the seminar El Público del Futuro) is underway will have the opportunity to apply with a deadline until April 28.
As the call mentions, this invitation extends to exhibition spaces and projects in Mexico, Latin America (also Central American countries, the Caribbean and Italy) and more. 16 projects will be selected, which will be entrusted with “reflect, investigate, discuss and collectively imagine possible audiovisual exhibition and distribution models in line with current transformations in the sector”.
The list of selected projects will be announced on May 11. And well, how can you apply for your exhibition project for this workshop given by FICUNAM and the Público del Futuro seminar? When you enter the registration form, you will be asked for the name of the person in charge of the project, the title of the project, the country of the project, and the email address of the applicant. You should also have at hand three documents in PDF format: your profile of the applicant, a brief description of your project, and a letter of reasons to explain why you want to participate in the workshop.
And finally, you must pay a registration fee of 8 dollars through PayPal (that is, about 140 Mexican pesos). And that’s it, that’s all you have to do to participate in the Exhibition Projects Workshop coordinated by FICUNAM and the Public of the Future seminar.
