Singing voices of all generations sounded in the Friedenskirche Bürs.

Burs, Bludenz. (sco) They should be exciting and varied, the choir projects in the run-up to high church celebrations. “These projects are trending; in the near future it will remain with these. We urgently need singers and are happy for every single voice,” emphasizes Vroni Bolter, chairman of the Heilig Kreuz Bludenz church choir. Around 40 men and women were enthusiastic about the Christmas choir project of the Heilig Kreuz parish. The church choir won Hildegard Frei-Bertsch from Nüziders as conductor. “She is well known in the Oberland and has led many choirs and projects. We were incredibly happy that she agreed,” said Bolter.

In eight rehearsals, the participants learned Lorenz Maierhofer’s German Canon Mass, with which the project choir gave a special touch to the Christmas service in the Holy Cross Church in Bludenz and the mass on the feast of the Epiphany in the Friedenskirche in Bürs. “I have the impression that the fair was enjoyed by all the singers,” said Bolter. At Easter there will be another project.

High willingness to donate

At the liturgy celebration in the Friedenskirche, chaplain Mathias Bitsche and parish leader Mladen Milic thanked the members of the project choir for their remarkable commitment and three women for their courageous commitment to the Epiphany Campaign. The efforts of Silvia Rauch, Andrea Seeberger and Verena Seifert over the past 16 years have been rewarded with flowers and sweets. Already at the time of the service, the donations made by the carol singers in Bürs were over 9,000 euros and even reached five figures afterwards. “The donations benefit people in other parts of the world who are not doing as well as we are,” Kaplan Bitsche pointed out once again in his sermon. Believers not only opened their hearts, but also their purses.
