The best movies of 2023: Oppenheimer, Barbie, May December

NEW YORK.- After a tumultuous film year marred by strikes and work stoppages, the Academy Awards today – January 23 – awarded a barrage of nominations to Christopher Nolan’s hit biopic, Oppenheimerwho compete in 13 categories.

Nolan’s three-hour work, considered the favorite for Best Picture, received nominations for Best Picture; Nolan’s direction; acting nominations for Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt; and multiple honors for the art of drama about J. Robert Oppenheimer.

Barbie, by Greta Gerwig, was not far behind with eight nominations, including Best Picture; Ryan Gosling as Best Supporting Actor; America Ferrera as Best Supporting Actress; and two candidates for Best Song in What Was I Made For y Im Just Ken. But Gerwig was surprisingly left out of the field of the best directors.

Lily Gladstone, protagonista de Killers of the Flower Moon, became the first Native American nominated for Best Actress. For the tenth time, Scorsese was nominated for Best Director. Leonardo DiCaprio, however, was left out of the Best Actor award.

The scars will be delivered on March 10 and will be broadcast on ABC in the United States.
