Given this fact, the officials began a controlled monitoring of the vehicle and alerted the patrols in the area. After several kilometers, the gendarmes found the truck overturned on the shoulder and without occupants, for which they proceeded to carry out a search, finding inside 15,000 packages of cigarettes of foreign origin without customs guarantee.
Members of Criminalistics and Forensic Studies carried out a fingerprint survey to find the possible owner of the truck, and discovered that he had a kidnapping warrant for robbery, in the Partido de la Matanza, province of Buenos Aires.
The Federal Court and the Federal Prosecutor of Oberá intervened, which directed the confiscation of the merchandise and the vehicle, in violation of Law 22,415.
