Thanks to its heritage, the city of Le Mans, in Sarthe, attracts filming, especially of period films. Saturday February 18, the 19/20 followed the work of the decorators before the clap of the start of a comedy, under the curious gaze of the inhabitants.

A stone’s throw from the cathedral of Le Mans (Sarthe), in a few hours, the rue de la Reine Bérangère has changed its face and era. She became Lutèce in 1640 for the film The goats, notably with Dany Boon. Two days of work were necessary under the leadership of Philippe Cipher, Caesar of the best sets for the film Rembrandt in 2000. “It’s a wonderful, extraordinary street. Me, I’m just hiding what’s wrong”says Philippe Digit.

An astonishing metamorphosis for the inhabitants

A very important scene will be shot there, it will have to set the scene. For the immersion, a hundred extras will represent around forty trades. Nothing is left to chance, an astonishing metamorphosis for the inhabitants of Le Mans. “It’s impressive, it makes you dream a little and it’s also interesting to see how it’s set up”, admits a passerby. The whole team will be back next Monday at four in the morning to finalize the final details.
