Cocks gets to charge for the final again – BK-46 in turn secured a match point at home after an important away win over GrIFK.

The handball season is approaching its climax. Now it is clear that Cocks, as expected, is one of the final teams – BK-46 and GrIFK are still playing for the other ticket.

After Saturday, it is clear that Karis has an advantage in that series. BK-46 secured a 32–27 victory away in Granigrottan after an incredibly even match.

– What decided? I do not really know. But we at least manage to be more clinical than we were the last time we played here in Grankulla, says Sebastian Säkkinen from BK-46 to Yle Sporten after the final whistle.

In the Grankulla camp, the analysis was clearer. Anthony Hellakoski was injured early in the match and the green shirts were unable to recover from that.

– We get new guys in the position who are not really used to this pressure. But it’s up to us as a team to step up and make up for it – today we didn’t succeed in that, says goalkeeper Patrik Roslander.

Loud pressure in the hall: “Heard nothing”

There was certainly pressure in the hall. The BK away crowd was strong and loud, and when it was also heating up on the field, the crowd turned up the volume even more.

– You can’t even say that there will be any advantage to playing at home when the away support is this good too. Especially since it echoes so much here. There were moments when I didn’t hear anything, says Säkkinen.

Now a fourth semi-final awaits in Karis. GrIFK pilot Mikael Källman says in the association’s match report that the severity of Hellakoski’s injury is not yet known, but based on Roslander’s comments, it sounds like he will not be fit to play.

– We just have to be cooler than we were today, it’s nothing new for us. Everyone else needs to step up and remember that we have absolutely nothing to lose. We will give everything, he says.

The sack, in turn, underlines the importance of forgetting and moving on.

– Regardless of whether you win or lose, this is a series where you have to reset quickly, he says.

Cocks swept the semi-final series against Dicken

In the second semi-final series, it never got exciting. Cocks, who have picked up steam in time for the spring’s heavy matches, won the third semi by clear numbers.

Slutsiffrorna skrevs 38–25 i Riihimäki.

– We will not reach the desired level today. But we hold our heads high and go into the bronze medal match with a medal in our sights, says Dicken coach Ken Sirenius in the association’s match report.

In the Cock camp, the greeting to the fans was even more cheerful:

– In the fifth final, Säger niomålsskytte’s Teemu Tamminen.
