CDMX.- Colleagues such as Rafael Inclán, Alex del Castillo, Mauricio Herrera and the communicator Gustavo Adolfo Infante arrived at the wake of comedian Polo Polo, whose laughter and black humor died down this Monday.

The funeral services were held at the Gayosso de Sullivan agency, in the San Rafael neighborhood, located in Mexico City.

“I am saddened by the impact of when I found out the news. I did not take into account that he was serious, I did not go to see him when he was in Querétaro. I will remember him for dinners and games,” Inclan said in an interview.

“I last saw him in El Cuevón, where we did our seasons. I will remember him cheerfully. You have to remember him with joy and humor, as we comedians do,” added Alex del Castillo.

Leopoldo Roberto García Peláez (his real name), originally from León, Guanajuato, died this Monday at his home in Cuernavaca, Morelos, at the age of 78.

“We will miss him, although we had already resented him for a long time. We knew he was sick, but this moment had to come. He was always like a brother and we had a group called the Academy of Humor. From him I learned humility, because being very old he was always humble,” shared Mauricio Herrera, who arrived at the funeral home supported by a cane.

“I am grateful that he and his children were part of my life for a while. I am left with all the happiness and laughter that he gave us so many. I only have good memories of him,” said Macaria, who was a couple of Polo Polo.

The comedian was born in the nucleus of a family dedicated to the world of shoemaking, until the humorous field led him to consolidate himself as a comedian, turning him into a true “master of gamble”.

“I have seen all the Polo Polo shows. So ahead of his time, because he was the first to do seasons, release records and not repeat jokes in live shows. El Huevón is named after him, because of his joke of the ‘huevón'”, assured the communicator Gustavo Adolfo Infante.

“He had a wonderful honor and a way of telling his jokes that lasted for minutes and minutes, when he got to the punchline of the joke he had the great virtue of making people laugh. If it lasted 20 minutes, you laughed for 20 minutes. As a partner he was wonderful , educated, a man who understood you”, reflected the comedian Pepe Magaña.

According to relatives, Polo Polo’s body will be cremated this Tuesday in an intimate family ceremony.
