Commentary: Holocaust commemoration: What matters now in Germany

For 27 years, the Bundestag has been commemorating the Victims of National Socialism. For the first time this year, the focus was on people who were persecuted because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. That’s late.

But in the end, it’s not the order of commemoration that matters. And also not the size and visibility of commemorations, memorials and memorials.
