The Comptroller General of the Republic warned about deficiencies and a possible fiscal risk in the linking of community mothers and fathers in the staff of the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF).

What does the Comptroller say?

The Comptroller’s Office identified possible fiscal risks and deficiencies in the role of the ICBF in guaranteeing the working conditions of more than 40,000 community mothers and fathers who They provide services to almost 500,000 children under 5 years of age.

“Most expect to have an improvement in their working conditions, which is why a technical and financial study of the fiscal impact of the normalization of the same in the staff of the entity”, affirmed Paola Aguirre Moreno, comptroller delegate for the social inclusion sector.

The study revealed that there could be fiscal impacts on the ICBF budget due to approximately one trillion additional pesos in each term, in case of advancing with the progressive formalization and gradual of these links.

Aguirre added that there were inconsistencies of more than 40 billion pesos in the information provided by the Institute regarding the execution budget in the community modality between 2016 and 2022.
