Several months ago, we were talking about Compulsion Games’ future projects. The studio acquired by Microsoft in 2018, most recently known for its work on We Happy Few, is currently working on a new game, and it seems that development has just passed a key milestone.

Compulsion Games’ new game in playable alpha

On the page
LinkedIn
of Lisa H, Narrative Director of the studio, one could read among her skills, that she had helped the teams to advance the project from pre-production status to that of a playable alpha build.

If the mention has since been deleted, we were able to capture it with the exact message below:

Oversee narrative design and script writing for new IP. Collaborate with other departments to ensure gameplay and storytelling are aligned. Led the project from pre-production to a playable alpha version.

For the moment, nothing is official about this new project, but several rumors indicate for a while now that the studio is working on a third-person action-adventure game in a dark-fantasy universe. It was the journalist Jez Corden who unveiled the concept arts of the game in the columns of Windows Central; it is known internally by the code name “Midnight”.

If the title is now at the playable alpha stage, we could be entitled to an official presentation of the game in the coming months.
