The newly elected MP Santos has spread brazen lies in his CV. His voters are angry, he wants to continue.

He is a constant liar, has fooled voters with a fabricated resume and is even said to have committed check fraud in the past. Nevertheless, the freshly elected George Santos will represent his home district in the city of New York in the US House of Representatives starting next Tuesday.

Democrats, like many of his constituents, are outraged and are demanding that the 34-year-old announce his resignation. Of that want santos but just as little know as many of his fellow Republicans, who remain silent, at least for now.

Santo’s ancestors: Doesn’t exist

At first glance he seemed the dream candidate for New York’s to be third congressional district. A son of immigrants who successfully completed his studies and then made a career as a banker. And the resume was indeed impressive.

Santo’s grandmother, a Ukrainian Jew, was during the holocaust fled to Belgium to escape the Nazis, he said. When he courted pro-Israel organizations and solicited donations during the campaign, he described himself as a “proud American Jew.”

The only problem with this: genealogy The Santos family revealed that he had no Jewish ancestry, let alone a grandmother from Ukraine.

His professional experiences: Made up

However, the up-and-coming political star did not allow himself to be disturbed by the revelations. He attended Baruch College in new York graduated as a business economist, it said in his CV. The university immediately explained that at no time had a student with that name been enrolled with them.

During the election campaign, the young Republican’s website claimed that he was with the major bank Citigroup and the securities firm Goldman Sachs worked and is an “experienced Wall Street financier”.

In reality, however, he had been a customer service representative for a satellite television company, answering questions and taking complaints over the phone.

Even your own mother became the subject of excessive exaggerations and lies. She was said to be the first woman to hold a managerial position at a major US bank. In fact, the mother worked as a nurse, and George is said to have stolen checks from one of her sick Brazilian patients and signed them forged. According to the Brazilian authorities, the investigation has not yet been completed.

His Net Worth: None

The claim that his family had one was also fictitious Assets in the tens of millions. According to a priest who heard Santos’ confession, the family couldn’t even afford her funeral after her mother died.

Funds for this at a Fundraiser collected went straight into George Santos’ pockets. Caught in numerous interviews, the young politician does not seem to be aware of any guilt. “I’m sorry for my exaggerations, including the CV, but everyone in Congress does that,” he downplays the imposture.

The New Yorker: Sour

But many New Yorkers who gave him their vote in November see it differently. “I voted for him because of a claim that he was Jewish and that was a blatant lie,” said Queens resident Rebecca Greenberg.

Democrats in Congress are demanding that he not run on Jan. 3 or be voted out of the House of Representatives. “The man is a total fraud, there must be consequences,” said Rep. Dan Goldman. Also, a small handful of Republicans have fired at Santos.

“He should choose the truth in the future,” said Anthony D’Esposito, who was also newly elected, but, like almost everyone else, refused to suggest that he resign.
