João Cancelo’s (28) management is investigating the situation for the upcoming summer transfer market. Cancelo is aware that FC Bayern will not make use of the purchase option for 70 million euros, so they are looking at possible alternatives.
One of them is FC Barcelona, who have been showing interest for quite some time. According to a report by ‘Sport’, Cancelo’s agent Jorge Mendes went back to the Catalans to take a different look at the squad. Because the fact is: Manchester City will not agree to a cheap sale. Another loan plus purchase option could be the solution.
In Munich, Cancelo has meanwhile made the leap to becoming a regular. In the absence of the injured Alphonso Davies (22), the right-footed player last played on the left defensive flank. It’s quite possible that FC Bayern will also have their say when it comes to Cancelo’s future in the summer. However, none of the clubs mentioned will put the above 70 million euros on the table.
