Cool weather and low humidity in the region

A new air mass has moved into the region: we are significantly less humid than we have been for much of the entire month of July.

After an unusually cool start in the morning, our temperatures will recover to around 80 degrees by Monday afternoon. Sunlight will sometimes fade behind cumulus formations, some of which will produce a brief shower or an isolated rumble of thunder as a cold front sweeps northwest to southeast.

The front will reinforce dry and comfortable air, setting us up for some beautiful days of weather until the middle of the week. Sunshine, low humidity, and highs in the 70s on Tuesday occur as we flip the calendar to August. We will have a very similar day on Wednesday. Good news for concertgoers at Fenway Park and Gillette the next few nights!

Clouds and perhaps some late showers will reappear by Thursday, both of which are signs that humidity will increase throughout the day. We will end the week with the most unsettled weather on Friday as numerous showers and thunderstorms are likely, raising our threat of localized flooding once again.

At this point, it looks like a slow moving front will keep the risk of showers and thunderstorms to start the weekend with drier weather likely for Sunday well behind that boundary. Next week should feature fairly average temperatures for early August, 80-85 degrees most days with some unpredictable thunderstorms as some upper level disturbances show up.
