Coronation Charles: body language expert! Here, Harry longed for a hug

Was he still aware of what he was missing here?

Britain has a new king. Shortly after 1 p.m Charles III (74) crowned the new ruler on Saturday. Numerous high-ranking guests – politicians, celebrities and royals from all over the world – gathered in Westminster Abbey.

And even he came: Prince Harry (38), who actually no longer wants to have anything to do with his family. However, at the invitation of his father Charles, the prodigal son turned up anyway at 11:39 am. If too without wife Meghan (41) and without a warm welcome.

Harry was also only allowed to sit in row three and came without any uniform or robes. Unlike his Brother William (40), who appeared with Princess Kate (41) in the noble coronation outfit. Kate even wore Lady Diana’s († 36) earrings.

Body language expert Thorsten Havener at BILD on the tense appearance of the prince:

“It doesn’t look so casual and cool! He thinks carefully about what is happening. He feels like he’s being watched, he’s uncomfortable, he has to walk around there without the protection of his family.”

Harry acted during the Coronation of Charles nervous and uncertain. For body language expert Carole Railton, a “sure sign that he’s on his own.” She means to „Daily Mail“that the Sussex was “with its own thoughts”.

Because when Harry joined his line after his arrival, he smiled. And held the hem of his jacket with his hand. For Carole Railton, a sign that he needed a “little hug” to make him feel more comfortable at his family reunion.

But the gesture was too subtle. There was no sign of a rapprochement with William or Charles.

Body language expert Thorsten Havener at BILD about King Charles: “You can see from Charles how special the day is for him. When he left the church, he seemed very moved. The lower jaw wobbled. This is a sign that you are very emotional before you start crying. The chin trembles too. He’s very focused at this moment. Not a sign of stress, just being focused on the moment.”

The crowned Camilla (75) was also striking. She looked tense. Her fingers shook badly. Havener: “It’s a very clear movement when we’re stressed. This tension is most often seen in the hands and feet. She is perfectly aware that the cameras are pointing at her. But with the hands and feet, this is most likely to take on a life of its own. That is a clear sign of stress.”

But when Camilla got the crown, she laughed. For Havener it was real. A moment that shows “that she likes what’s happening right now”.

While Harry stayed hidden and didn’t see much behind Princess Anne’s hat anyway, his brother got the big moment. He was allowed to kiss Father Charles on the cheek at the very front.

“You see the view from below upwards, and the eyes are slightly reddened, the lips go down a bit,” says expert Havener at BILD. “A sign that he is really moved.”

His conclusion: “The Royals have mastered it absolutely brilliantly.”
