CORONATION Street fans couldn’t bear to stare at their TV screens after seeing Gemma Winter mocking a burger in front of their eyes.
Fans of the ITV soap opera were appalled and all said the same thing when Gemma swallowed the burger created especially for her by her husband Chesney.
During the episode, after Gemma reveals that Chesney talked in his sleep about cheese and bacon, it prompted him to come up with a clever new business plan.
The cash-strapped couple tried to find innovative ways to earn more money for their family and pay for their upcoming wedding.
Gemma started a babysitting group to rake in hundreds of extra pounds a day after completing a successful trial with Micheal’s daughter Glory.
This led to Chesney trying to come up with a perfect new burger recipe that he could somehow turn into a money-making idea.
In order to get it right, the father of five made his first attempt on wife-to-be Gemma who wasted no time trying it out.
While the burger was a huge hit with Gemma, Chesney revealed he wouldn’t be going ahead with his big business venture just yet, but reassured her that it would “someday” happen.
But fans couldn’t concentrate on all that Chesney had to say as they expressed their annoyance at seeing Gemma eating the burger and wondered if it really needed to be shown.
One fan raged: “Why do they keep showing her eating and talking with her mouth full and still screaming.”
Another said: “Do you really have to see Gemma eating and drinking???? I do not think so.”
A third commented: “Gemma eating a burger traumatized me forever #corrie.”
While a fourth begs show bosses: “Please, please don’t show any more scenes with Gemma eating.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
