Insecurity and drug trafficking reveal an increasingly violent reality in the Region. As EL DIA has repeatedly reported, while some do million-dollar deals with these two scourges, others suffer their consequences firsthand.

In this violent context, during the last few hours, multiple raids were carried out as part of a mega-operation against the sale of drugs, which left 15 people arrested and several kilos of narcotics, firearms and cash were seized.

Official sources detailed that the tasks were carried out by the Superintendence of Investigations of Illicit Drug Traffic and Organized Crime, La Plata Delegation with the support of uniformed personnel from the Ponsati police station.

During three days, including yesterday, more than five raids were carried out with judicial endorsement.

It should be noted that it all started with an anonymous complaint, continued with an investigation and led to a search warrant, it was indicated.

The operation was carried out in different homes located in different areas of La Plata and Berisso, which were exposed with filming and monitoring.

Among the operations that were carried out, the agents managed to disrupt a gang dedicated to the commercialization of narcotics in the area of ​​115 between 96 and 97.

According to police sources, the drug was packaged in “packages” and “wrappers.”

There they also found bags with compact pieces of the same substance, a weapon, cartridges and a scale, among other items of interest to the investigation.

Likewise, the specialists calculate that the seized marijuana and cocaine have a high value, and also that a sum close to $50,000 in cash and a dozen cell phones were found.

Based on all the data collected, the investigations established two addresses where it was presumed that the main suspects in the illegal activity could spend the night.

It was thus that they mounted the operations that made possible the respective captures.

Sources also indicated that of the ten people (eight men and two women) detained they are all adults, and they were all residents of the El Palihue area.

One of them was charged with illegal possession of firearms.

In addition, other elements that complicate the situation of the apprehended were seized, such as nylon clippings and digital scales.

As is known, this problem has been denounced for years by residents of the area and has already caused numerous publications by this newspaper.

DELIVERY OF DRUG IN THE OVENS

In continuity with the procedures that were carried out in the last hours, a man was arrested by police officers from the Illicit Drug Trafficking area, after two raids carried out in Berisso and La Plata.

The operations were carried out in 29 between 126 and 127 and in 153 between 55 and 57.

It should be noted that the officers followed up on the person involved with filming and undercover surveillance work.

According to reports, the defendant, a Peruvian national, made “drug delivery” by agreeing to meet in public spaces.

Spokesmen detailed that when the defendant was arrested he had doses of cocaine for 70,000 pesos, while in one of the raided homes they seized more doses of the same substance for an amount of $200,000.

After being arrested, the agents reported that they also arrested another defendant for drug possession. Both were at the disposal of the Oral and Criminal Court 5 of La Plata.

MORE RAIDS

For their part, in 171 between 41 and 42 the police seized doses of cocaine for the sum of $92,000 and $5,700 in cash, also cell phones, nylon trimmings, and cutting and stretching elements.

In 611 between 122 and 122 bis they seized $72,000 in doses of cocaine, $6,900 in cash, cell phones, and a scale.

Finally, at an address at 40 and 120, the Police seized a graveyard weapon and doses of marijuana.
