The Minister of Health, Julio Borba, confirmed that, indeed, COVAX raised a counterproposal Given the request made by the State portfolio for the reimbursement of the more than USD 5 million paid for the purchase of COVID vaccines.

“We exhausted all instances of dialogue, we met countless times with the people of COVAX to try to reach an amicable agreement to try to close that contract,” he told 730 AM.
Borba hopes that the Attorney General of the Republicwhich is now studying the aforementioned counterproposal, can be issued in relation to the subject to later do it from the health portfolio.

“After that we will determine what is most convenient for the country”, added the minister.
He Ministry of Health had signed a according to the COVAX Mechanism of the World Health Organization (WHO) about $5,600,000 for the provision of vaccines against COVID-19. Of the 4,279,800 doses purchased, only a little more than 1,093,000 were delivered to Paraguay.
