The municipality’s Hydrometeorology Directorate had reported that between last night and this morning a strong storm would hit La Plata, for which reason the alerts were activated and it was put on guard. The truth is that the rains were delayed and arrived just after 1:20 p.m. in the center of the City, on a day in which the National Meteorological Service also forecasts a Thursday that had gone through rain. First it was a light drizzle, then it was a deluge and later it came out sunny.
The SMN indicates that isolated storms were expected for today morning, which will intensify in the afternoon, while there will be showers at night. The minimum temperature will be 21 degrees and the maximum 27, while the wind will blow from the east.
Tomorrow morning showers are also announced, but the rest of Friday will be mostly cloudy skies. The thermometer will oscillate between 20 degrees and 27 degrees, and the wind will come from the southeast quadrant, rotate to the east and blow again from the southeast.
The truth is that although storms of varying intensity were expected since last night, some of them strong, with gusts of wind, and even the possibility of hail falling was not ruled out, they were delayed. In this context, the communal body maintained the level of yellow risk attention that it activated yesterday. This morning, before 11, it was reported that “rainfalls of varying intensity are being generated over the center-east and northeast of the province of Buenos Aires. At the moment, they are more than 50 km from La Plata, after the They will reach the city at noon. We are still under the YELLOW NAR due to storms.” Finally they were present before 13:30.
This Thursday, the Municipality of La Plata had convened a meeting of the Municipal Emergency Operating Committee (COEM) given the probability of locally heavy rainfall. Therefore, they launched prevention tasks and monitoring of weather conditions.
In this sense, they recommended that residents clean and check the pipes and drains of each house, check the roofs and secure the parts that could be blown away (tiles, sheet metal or others), not remove the waste if this forecast is confirmed, and remain in a safe place during the time of storms. In addition, it was suggested to remove pots or other objects that can be blown from balconies and windows.

On the other hand, regarding the weather for this weekend, the weather conditions will improve. The sky will be somewhat cloudy and the maximum temperature will reach 30 degrees.
