Cuban family of Jehovah's Witnesses is separated after not all being approved with the Parole

A family of Jehovah’s Witnesses was approved by humanitarian parole to leave Cuba. But something happened with the father that the US officials did not let him in.

A family of Jehovah’s Witnesses received the happy news of the approval of their humanitarian parole. They prepared to travel to the United States, but the father of the family received a travel refusal from the Customs and Border Protection office.

Saily Rodríguez, his wife, retained the services of a lawyer in Tampa, who made inquiries with the Department of Homeland Security to verify his background.

The family put up a new parole application for the father in the hope that this time he will be approved.

Along with Rodríguez, the couple’s son traveled to the United States, a young man who requires the presence of his father due to medical problems.

The family assures that in Cuba they were self-employed, they did not even work for the State, so they do not understand the reason for the refusal.

The separation is being very hard for this family.

The parole program for Cubans, Haitians, Venezuelans and Nicaraguans has allowed more than 150,000 people from these countries to reach the United States, but approval depends exclusively on CBP officers and is not appealable.
