Many spectators came to encourage the riders of the 120th edition of Paris-Roubaix, Sunday April 9th. The atmosphere was conducive to relaxation throughout the course.
Many of them, Sunday April 9, came to encourage the riders of Paris-Roubaix. The mythical Arenberg Gap (North) and its share of dizzying falls sometimes disconcert the public. “It’s impressive to see the fall of a blow like that, especially since the runner who fell suffered a lot of pain”, comments a young man. Sometimes you had to make your way between the peloton and the cars to change your wheel in an emergency. Some of the spectators came from afar to be in the front row and admire the professionals on the cobblestones.
“It inspires”
Seeds of champions are found in many families who come to watch the race from the first cobbled section. “I ride a bike so we are used to racing. It inspires”, says a young boy. Normans came to support the child prodigy of the family, Matîs Louvel, for his second Paris-Roubaix. He finished 15th last year. The 120th edition lived up to its reputation. Competition is always a dream.
