This reissue takes fans behind the scenes of the creation of their ultimate album, Random Access Memories, released ten years ago.
A few treasures remained hidden in the archives of Daft Punk, and they finally discover the light of day. The French electro duo, separated since 2021, unveils this Friday a reissue of their ultimate album Random Access Memoriesplanetary box of 2013. A new version which includes the 13 original titles accompanied by 9 unreleased.
It was on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of this disc that the ambassadors of the French Touch plunged back into their drafts to unearth these tracks. Pieces elaborated at the time of the creation of the CD, but which had not been retained for the final tracklist. One of them, Infinity Repeatingdresses in a clip unveiled exclusively Thursday in Beaubourg, before a broadcast on YouTube this Friday.

This reissue takes fans behind the scenes of the making of the record. Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, the two halves of Daft Punk, added unreleased songs as well as drafts, including a 32-second track called GL (Early Take)first version of the instrumental which would later become the worldwide hit Get Lucky.
“We each dug into our archives, remotely, last summer,” says the ‘Parisian‘ Florian Lagatta, sound engineer for the album.
The goal was to “show what happened during the recording, which spanned five years with breaks,” he continues.
Another example is that of LYTD (Vocoder Tests)test of what became the tube Lose Yourself To Dance. The next track, The Writing of Fragments of Timeprovides an overview of the recording of Fragments of Timewhere we hear the musicians talking in the studio.
At the time of the release of Random Access Memories, 2014 Grammy Award for Album of the Year, no one knew it would be Daft Punk’s ultimate album. This reissue sounds like an ultimate gift to fans, two years after the surprise announcement of their separation after 28 years of collaboration.
