He dreamed of him!
Today the joint song by Matthias Reim (65) and Rüpel-Rapper Finch (32) appears: “Pech & Sulfur”.
Wait a moment?
One is our biggest hit rocker, the other a real teen idol. How did that happen?
Finch to BILD: “I’ve been a Matze fan for years, so I always sang ‘Damn, I love you’ on my first tour. A year later I wanted to win him for a song – unfortunately in vain. My manager’s phone rang the other day – apparently it was Matthias Reim. At first he thought it was a joke and choked it off. When he called again, we realized it was the real one.”
Matze initially rejected Finch
For Schlager fan Finch, a real dream came true. After songs with Scooter and Blümchen it finally worked with Matze. But this was only because of his children.
Matthias Reim on BILD: “Years ago, I had a call from Finch and he asked me if I could make an announcement for a show for him. I didn’t know him at the time and I quickly forgot about it.”

But then one day it happened…
Rhyme: “Last year I drove to Italy in the sun with my two children Romeo (18) and Romy (14). Before I said: ‘You are the DJs! Today it’s not Ozzy Osbourne, but your music!’ They played Finch in the car all the time. Both said: ‘Dad, you absolutely have to do something with him, that would be the coolest thing’. So I got in touch with Finch again and he was immediately willing to come to my place on Lake Constance.”
In the studio it clicked immediately – and in no time at all the song “Pech & Sulfur” was created.
Finch: “We got on really well. A horny guy. We recorded a real buddy song. Love passes, friendship lasts forever.”
Two have found each other: Finch with Matze Reim
Rhyme: “We totally harmonized musically, even if we are more than 30 years apart and actually make completely different music. He’s the cool rapper and the teen idol, I’m the old hit rocker, it just fitted well. And if both of us and my children enjoy the number, then it will certainly be the same for the others.”
And it shouldn’t be a one night stand. The unlikely couple already has live plans.
Rhyme: “I promised Finch that he would be there at my big open air in Berlin’s Wuhlheide and sing the number live with me.”
