A 35-year-old was killed with numerous stitches in the old town of Duisburg. The police are still puzzled when trying to find the culprit.
After a fatal stabbing in the old town of Duisburg on the night of Easter Monday (we reported), the police are puzzled: who stabbed the 35-year-old after midnight? However, new details about the circumstances are known.
The dead man had celebrated with several acquaintances in a house on Begienengasse. Alcohol was also drunk. At a late hour, the party probably shifted outside again and again.
What exactly happened then is still unclear. At around 1.15 a.m., the 35-year-old was found covered in blood on Klosterstrasse near Karl-Strack-Platz. His body had numerous stab wounds and lacerations. After the autopsy, public prosecutor Felix Bachmann spoke of a “considerable number”. Rescuers took the man to the hospital. The doctors there fought in vain for his life. The 35-year-old died a few hours after the attack.

Now the search for the culprit(s) is underway. Evidence is currently rare. For the investigation blocked the detective the area Klosterstraße/Karl-Strack-Platz during the night of the crime. Traces were secured, the course of events reconstructed. Investigators interviewed the victim’s acquaintances. Police spokesman Jonas Tepe reports that there is nothing to indicate that there was an act in the milieu.

According to the crime report, the old town is one of the three districts in Duisburg where the most crimes will be committed in 2022. The police counted 2,632 incidents there in 2022. The police only registered more offenses in Dellviertel (4,035) and in Marxloh (2,780).
