If you played the original 2008 Dead Space, you surely know the existence of the legendary PENG treasure: a statuette hidden in the hangar, recoverable only thanks to the use of telekinesis. In the beginning, PENG was only recoverable towards the end of the game, more precisely in chapter 11, since you could not freely explore the ship and retrace your steps. In reality, with the New Game + there was the opportunity to take it immediately upon landing on the Ishimura, having all the equipment already unlocked.
PENG, as well as allowing you to get the trophy “PENG is forever!” (if you need a hand here you will find the Dead Space Remake trophy guide), it also allows you to earn well 30,000 credits from the shop. In short, we are talking about a real priceless and useful treasure to help us upgrade all the weapons and complete the game 100%.
However, in the remake the developers wanted to joke about the presence of the treasure. Since the Ishimura is now freely explorable, Isaac Clark can immediately return to the hangar and then try to recover the treasure immediately … which however is not present, in its place a message from a collector who tells how much he struggled to get the statuette , so priceless that he hid it “in the depths, where all is forgotten”.
As in the Visceral Games version, PENG can therefore only be retrieved in chapter 11. But let’s see exactly where.
Where is the PENG treasure in Dead Space Remake?
Once you get off the rapid transport, follow the mission objective to reach the cargo hold, access the personnel lift near the upgrade terminal and once you get off, look and to the left, eliminate the explosive necromorph that comes your way and then give one look slightly left again, near the elevator: you will find a series of boxes to be moved with telekinesis, just behind a cabinet with PENG inside, worth 30,000 credits like in the original 2008 video game.
