Customers of the network operator Vodafone are still struggling with disruptions and failures throughout Germany. The cable and DSL network, including Internet, telephony and television, is primarily affected, but mobile communications are often affected as well. Our overview shows what the problems are.

Via the official breaking news forum, Vodafone confirms restrictions on cable connections in the North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Baden-Württemberg areas. It appears to be a large-scale disruption that the company’s technicians are already working on. Customers in these regions must expect outages when using the Internet, in the landline area and when watching television.

DSL customers in the Lower Saxony district of Leer are still struggling with problems with the Internet, landline network and TV. An interference suppression has already been commissioned here. Vodafone itself also seems to have problems calling up faults on the interactive fault map. After long loading times, the affected areas cannot currently be displayed. It can therefore be assumed that other regions will also be affected by restrictions, especially with regard to the mobile network.

Vodafone disruptions: Affected areas on April 28, 2023

  • North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Baden-Wrttemberg: Internet, landline and cable TV restrictions
  • Empty: Internet, landline and TV restrictions via cable and DSL
  • Trouble accessing faults via Vodafone fault map

Aside from the reports mentioned above, you should always take a look at the Vodafone fault map (currently possibly faulty). However, note that although Vodafone updates this map, minor regional disruptions or outages are often not documented. In most cases, however, these are rectified promptly.

Why do you only report about Vodafone faults?

Currently, Vodafone is the only network operator that reports failures in its network in a comparatively transparent way – either via its breaking news or the fault card. Deutsche Telekom and O2 (Telefnica) only allow specific checks after entering detailed addresses.

We do not report on reports from users for the reason that disruptions of this type could also be caused by hardware defects on site (e.g. router, PC, smartphone, etc.) and do not directly affect the entire network of the provider.
