Whether film or series stars, athletes or other public figures – some stars from the entertainment industry have also passed away in 2023. We had to say goodbye to the following celebrities in 2023.

These stars died in January 2023

Rosi Mittermaier (ski legend)

“Gold-Rosi” passed away on January 4th after a serious illness. The German ski legend made her World Cup debut at the age of 17 and won two gold medals at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck. Rosi Mittermaier was born in Munich in 1950 and married the ski racer Christian Neureuther in 1980. The couple had two children: Ameli (fashion designer) and Felix (ski racer).

The actress passed away on January 6 at the age of 64. She has acted in the series “Twin Peaks” and “Baywatch” among others.

Adam Rich (child star)

Lothar Blumhagen (actor and voice actor)

Lothar Blumhagen played in TV films and on the theater stage – but many probably know his voice best. As a voice actor he was, among other things, the voice of Christopher Plummer in the German version of various films – most recently in “Knives Out – Mord ist Familiensache”. He passed away on January 10th at the age of 95.

Gina Lollobrigida (actress)

Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida passed away on January 16 at the age of 95. During her career, alongside Sophia Loren and Claudia Cardinale, she rose to the status of a film icon and was even considered the “most beautiful woman in the world”.

Simone Bär (Casting Director)

Simone Bear has worked with many Hollywood greats including Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson. She died at the age of 57 on January 16, 2023.

Cindy Williams (actress)

Cindy Williams was active in Hollywood for six decades and is best known for her role in the Happy Days spin-off Laverne & Shirley. She died on January 25 at the age of 75.

Annie Wersching (actress)

Annie Wersching was only 45 years old. She passed away on January 29 as a result of cancer. She has starred in numerous series including Supernatural, 24, CSI, NCIS, Rizzoli & Isles, Castle and The Vampire Diaries.

Lisa Loring (actress)

Lisa Loring was the first actress to play the role of Wednesday Addams. On January 30, she suffered a stroke and passed away at the age of 64.

February 2023

George P Wilbur (actor)

George P. Wilbur was the one who played the iconic character Michael Myers on “Halloween.” As an actor and stuntman, he was involved in more than 100 television and film projects before he died on February 1 at the age of 81.

George R Robertson (actor)

Canadian actor George R. Robertson is best known for playing the commissioner in the first six Police Academy films. He passed away on February 4th at the age of 89.

Hugh Hudson (director)

Hugh Hudson, the director of the sports film classic “The Hour of the Winner” (1981) passed away on February 10th. He was 86 years old.

Raquel Welch (actress)

In the ’60s and ’70s, actress Raquel Welch was a sex symbol and worked with Hollywood greats like James Stewart, Frank Sinatra, John Huston and Burt Reynolds. She died on February 16 at the age of 82.

Richard Belzer (actor)

Richard Belzer died on February 19 at the age of 78. In the 1970s he appeared as a comedian on the sketch show Saturday Night Live. He is best known for his role as detective John Munch on the hit series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Tom Sizemore (Actor)

Actor Tom Sizemore has appeared in the films Natural Born Killers (1994), Heat (1995), Saving Private Ryan (1998), Black Hawk Down (2001) and Pearl Harbor (2001), among others. On March 3, he died as a result of a Sizemore suffered as a result of a cerebral aneurysm.

Heinz Baumann (actor)

The German actor Heinz Baumann died on March 4 at the age of 95. He is best known for his roles in “Tatort”, “SOKO 5113”, “I’m Marrying a Family”, “The Dream Ship – South Seas” and “Adelheid and Her Murderers”.

Peter Hardy (actor)

Lance Reddick (actor)

Actor Lance Reddick is best known for his roles in The Wire and the John Wick films. On March 17, he died as a result of heart disease.

April 2023

Maria Sebaldt (actress)

The German actress Maria Sebaldt has been active since the 1950s and has appeared in numerous productions. Among other things, she played in several episodes of “Das Traumschiff”. She died on April 4th.

Judy Farrell (actress)

Judy Farrell is best known for her role as Nurse Able on the cult series MASH. She died on April 2 at the age of 84.

Sven Walser (actor)

Sven Walser embodied the stable boy Kuno in almost 100 episodes of the NDR cult format “News from Büttenwarder”. On April 4, 2023, he died at the age of just 59.

Lotti Krekel (actress, singer)

German actress and singer Lotti Krekel passed away on April 11 at the age of 81. She played her first roles in the 1960s in “The True Jacob” and “Willy, the Private Detective”. Between 1998-2011 she was part of the cast of the WDR series “Die Anrheiner”.
