Deadly crash in Harris County causes power outage, lane closures

A deadly crash Sunday in north Harris County currently has northbound and southbound lanes closed at 1000 Airline and Gulf Bank.

According to police, a vehicle crashed into an electrical pole, snapping the pole in half and causing a blackout.

While the scene of the accident has been cleared, the southbound lanes will remain closed for a few more hours, according to police.

Work is underway to reopen the northbound lanes. It is estimated that power will not be restored until 3 pm
