The man suspected of being the motorist who mowed down young Aymen, 14, on the sidelines of celebrations around the France-Morocco World Cup match on the night of December 14 to 15 in Montpellier, was arrested this Tuesday morning near Perpignan. He was examined in particular for “voluntary violence with a weapon having caused death without the intention of giving it”, and placed in pre-trial detention.

The man suspected of having mowed down and killed the young Aymen, 14, with his vehicle on the sidelines of the celebrations around the France-Morocco World Cup match in Montpellier, on the night of December 14 to 15, was arrested this Tuesday morning near Perpignan, and imprisoned. It was the office of the Montpellier public prosecutor who made the announcement in a press release on Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect was put under examination in particular for “voluntary violence with a weapon having led to death without intention of giving it”, and placed in pre-trial detention. He also received the second count of indictment that of “willful violence with a weapon resulting in a total interruption of work greater than eight days”.
